A Story by Jasmine Kaur

INTRODUCTION

Vicky Jain and Ankita Lokhande are officially husband and wife now. In the presence of their families and close friends, the couple who have been dating for some time tied the knot in Mumbai in a grand ceremony. Ankita and Vicky’s wedding was a grand affair and their pre-wedding festivities began during the weekend. Srishty Rode has shared Ankita’s first look post-wedding, as well as best wishes from all corners for the newlyweds.

Pavitra Rishta actress Pavitra Viky wore a cream-coloured sherwani with heavy embroidery, while Vicky opted for a gold sherwani coloured lehenga. Her look was completed with a long veil, heavy bridal jewellery, maang tika, etc. The newlyweds even had garlands around their necks as the bride flaunted her sindoors and mangalsutras.

In the meantime, Ankita’s close friend Amruta Khanvilkar is thrilled with the couple’s marriage. In her excitement, the actress said, “Ankita has found her soulmate, her best friend in Vicky.”. With the way he looks after her, he has been standing by her side no matter what. It takes a lot for a man to be the man that he is. A great bond exists between Ankita and him – one of faith, trust, and love. Both of them are entering a wonderful phase of their lives, and all I wish for her is all the best”.

ENGAGEMENT CEREMONY

Both Ankita and Vicky talked about each other at the engagement ceremony party. Vicky, who held Ankita’s hand, said, “I’m a very expressive guy. I always show my love towards her in front of the whole world, today, tomorrow and forever.” Likewise, Ankita too shared heartfelt words saying, “I’ve told him each and everything about me. But I just want to say and tell everyone that I’m very very lucky to have Vicky in my life. I think because of Vicky my life is very easy. The way he is, I’m really grateful to God that he is my partner forever.” The ceremony also saw the newly-engaged couple cut a four-tier cake in the presence of family members and close friends, who were seen grooving along.

Ankita Lokhande donned a stunning shimmery black ensemble, while Vicky wore a beige printed jacket over a turtleneck T-shirt and black pants. As the couple exchanged rings, the title track from the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s film Raabta played in the background. Ankita was in a serious relationship with Sushant for about six years before splitting up with him in 2016. In 2020, Sushant passed away.

MEHENDI FUNCTION

Ankita and Vicky wore coordinated white floral outfits for the Mehendi ceremony. While Ankita was dressed in a lehenga, Vicky opted for a sherwani. Additionally, Ankita and Vicky danced their hearts out and even performed together on stage. Also on Instagram, the actress shared pictures from the private affair. Ankita wrote of the photos, “The love we share makes my mehndi look so beautiful… so meaningful… so memorable…”.

Vicky and Ankita celebrated their third anniversary earlier this year. A post she shared on Instagram in June thanked Vicky for supporting her during difficult times. “You were always the first person to ask me how I was doing, if I needed help in anything, or if I wanted to get away so that I could clear my head. You were always so worried about me, and I always told you that I was fine because I knew that I had you with me. I want to thank you for being the best boyfriend in the world. I don’t need to tell you what I need, but you always know what it is somehow,” she wrote.

CONCLUSION

The couple has decided to cancel their red carpet event a day before their wedding due to the rising COVID-19 cases. Recently, there have been several cases of the Omicron variant reported in India, although the number is under control, and the government has already taken measures to curtail the outbreak.

By calling off the red carpet, the couple also made a responsible choice to keep the wedding intimate. As planned, close friends and family attended the wedding. Her Manikarnika co-star Kangana Ranaut graced the lavish Sangeet ceremony of the duo. Mahhi Vij, Ankita’s close friend, revealed that the actress wanted to marry in a big fat wedding. Though the couple seems to be changing some of their plans, their level of happiness and joy remains the same.

Along with family, friends, and industry colleagues, the couple has invited the Maharashtra Governor to their wedding. The couple visited the Governor’s office on Monday to hand over the invitations, and while there, they took a few pictures to show fans a glimpse of their meeting. The soon-to-be bride Ankita looks ethereal in a white saree, while Jain shares an infectious smile in formal wear. In the post, they invite the reputed employees and have a quick chat with them.
