Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has been reported to have used derogatory language against the Sikh community on Instagram and a police complaint has been filed.

An official complaint has been made against the actress by the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee, which was filed with the cyber cell of the Mandir Marg Police Station in the Indian capital.

In its statement, the committee said Ranaut had intentionally and deliberately portrayed the farmer’s protests in India as a “Khalistani movement.”

RANAUT’S BLAME ON SIKH COMMUNITY

“… Ranaut further termed the Sikh community as Khalistani Terrorists and recalled the massacre and genocide that happened during 1984 and earlier as deliberate moves by [former Indian prime minister] Indira Gandhi,” the statement alleged, according to the Times of India.

“It is alleged that the post was deliberately prepared and shared with the intent of hurting the feelings of the Sikh community. Therefore, I request your office to look into this matter on a priority basis and take strict legal action after filing an FIR [First Information Report].

Khalistan is a Sikh separatist movement that aims to establish a sovereign state as a homeland for Sikhs.

SAD LEADER’S VIEW

Meanwhile, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader, and Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee president, also spoke out on Twitter against the actress.

The spirit of India is not represented by Kangana Ranaut and her sick mentality. The writer is spitting venom against a certain section of society Sirsa posted on Twitter that she “is spreading communal hatred” and asked the President of India to strip her of her Padma Shri award. This is the fourth-highest award given to civilians in India.

“I urge Kangana Ranaut’s followers to see through her hate-filled politics and policies. Are you in favor of communal hatred as Kangana promotes? Those who threaten or abuse me; I will be in Khar police station tomorrow. Show some courage and meet me,” he continued, adding that Ranaut belongs in a “mental hospital or jail”.

The Sikh community responded to Ranaut’s comments on her Instagram story, in which she deemed the farmers’ protests in India an act of terrorism. The situation reached ahead this weekend when Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi decided to repeal three controversial farm laws that resulted in widespread protests in the country these past few months.

“Khalistani terrorists may be arm twisting the government today… But let’s not forget one woman… The only woman prime minister ne inn neechee crush Kiya Tha… [crushed them under her] No matter how much suffering she caused to this nation… she crushed them like mosquitos at the cost of her own life…,” posted Ranaut, while referring to late Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
