Ravi Kishan appeals PM Modi to help actors get royalty

A Story by Jasmine Kaur
Introduction
Ravi Kishan, a member of Parliament and actor, proposed royalty for actors in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.
Ravi said the BJP government has always looked after the film industry, ensuring that lyricists and singers receive royalties and helping actors as well.
In Hollywood and China, this tradition exists, and we should have it here in India as well. Currently, actors only receive a fee. Actors like Bharat Bhushan, among others, who must go through sad days at the end of their careers, could benefit from this, the actor said.
A percentage of royalty can also be determined based on the screen time of the actor.
