Indian hockey captain Ritu Rani went into depression when she was not selected for Olympics

INTRODUCTION
In 2016, she went into a stage of depression when she was not selected as a player for the Olympics. Although, she was the captain of her team and the team was qualified but she was not selected. Meanwhile, she took retirement from her job as well. After getting support from her husband and family, she again started playing and took herself out of the depression.
She even shared the reason for not getting selected for the Olympics. All the players were very hard workingbut they couldn’t get selected due to lack of perfection. Also, the qualifying round is very tough. In the 2012 Olympics, they lost their match in the qualifying round which they played with South Africa. According to her, the problem was in the perfection where the players make goals at the beginning of the match and created pressure.
HER OPINION ON GETTING AWARDS
When she was asked about getting the Arjuna award, she replied that according to the guidelines there must be an achievement of the current four years but she didn’t get it when she deserved it, so now she has stopped dreaming about it. Recently, she applied for the Dhyanchand award, and even last year she applied for it. Moreover, she thinks that she deserves it, let’s hope for the best.
CONCLUSION
She is still working as a national player and also gives training to her daughter so that she can become a good hockey player and fulfill her dream of being called an Olympian.
