She is Technical Corporate Leader in a reputed multinational bank and is now one of the Finalists of Haut Monde Mrs. India Worldwide 2022 which will be hosted in Dubai at the end of July.
We recently got a chance to speak to her candidly about her life story and Haut Monde journey. Here are some of the highlights of the conversation.

MYPENCILDOTCOM : What was it like growing up?

Shubhani: I grew up in Nagpur in a very humble family. I graduated as a Computer Science Engineer. Due to the recession, I was unable to find my dream job. Owing to difficult financial circumstances and being the eldest child in my family, I had to take on a lot of responsibilities at an early stage in my life. I worked several jobs like book store receptionist, call center executive, etc. to make the ends meet and support my family.

MYPENCILDOTCOM : Tell us more about your journey from being a bookstore receptionist to a Technical lead.

Shubhani: While I could provide for my family with these jobs, I had much higher aspirations. I decided to take control of my life and started preparing for a much more rewarding career. After a bit of struggle, I landed myself a job as a software engineer. I wore my learning hat and kept focusing on developing my skill set. I am grateful to have been recently recognized with the “Emerging Young Leader (2021)Award” at my current workplace. Currently, I hold a Technical Leadership position at Barclays Capital.

MYPENCILDOTCOM : What does Shubhani do when she’s not working?

Shubhani: I love spending time with my family, dancing, and cooking. I am a fitness enthusiast and very passionate about trekking.

MYPENCILDOTCOM :What are some of your personal achievements that you are most proud of?

Shubhani: I was one of the few women in 2019 to summit Chandrashila Winter Peak (12,110 ft.) in extremely harsh weather of -15 degrees Celsius. On summit day, I had to push myself through each and every step. I was having difficulty in breathing, the water was turning into ice in a matter of seconds and the snow blanket made it very difficult to climb. That was the day when I truly pushed my physical and mental limits.

MYPENCILDOTCOM : Tell us more about the work you’re doing for uplifting the underprivileged women?

Shubhani: I am associated with Shanti Sajal Research & Charitable Trust through Haut Monde Mrs. India Worldwide where I’m raising funds for a skill development program for underprivileged women & children of India. I’m also associated with Shravasti NGO, which is a shelter for children with Schizophrenia.

MYPENCILDOTCOM: How is Mrs. India Worldwide’s journey helping you achieve your dreams in life?

Shubhani: Having secured a healthy and financially rewarding life, I started to uncover my long overdue dream of being a fashionista and that is when is decided to start my pageantry journey with Haut Monde. My journey has been really exciting. It has challenged me to come out of my comfort zone and help me become the best version of myself. I am grateful to Bharat Bhramar Sir for giving me and many women like me this wonderful opportunity to transform our lives. I am also thankful to Ritika Ramtri Ma’am (Tiara Pageant Studio) and Kirti Mishra Narang Ma’am (Katalytis) for giving me the much-needed guidance to prepare myself for this journey.

MYPENCILDOTCOM: What is the one change that you have seen in the women of today versus the women of the past?

Shubhani: “I think most of us women still feel like we need permission to dream and live on our own terms. We need to lead and change that. I believe Haut Monde will help me to break this stereotype and give women like me an opportunity to showcase my talent. I am grateful to this magnificent pageant for showing me the path to achieve my cherished dream of wearing a crown and empowering me to inspire young women like me to live their dreams.”
